Dr. Margaret Smith is President of Smith Financial Place, a fee-only financial planning/coaching firm in Claremont, CA.  Margaret has been featured in various media including Business Week, Newsweek, LA Times, and The New York Times. She is a Certified Financial Planner, a Certified Integral Life Coach, and a Registered Investment Advisor.  She is a member of the FPA (Financial Planning Association), the IEA (International Enneagram Association), the LA Collaborative Family Law Association (LACFLA), and an alumnus of New Ventures West (the coach training institute).  She has a PhD in Business Economics from Harvard University, a BA/MA in Economics, summa cum laude, from Yale University.  She was formerly an economics professor at Pomona College. She is co-author with Dr. Gary Smith of Houseonomics, published by Financial Times/Prentice Hall Books, 2008. She has authored and co-authored several academic papers on topics ranging from housing to finance to statistics. She is currently co-authoring a book about improving your relationship to money based on your money personality entitled Your Abundance Map: A Personal Path Towards Greater Financial Well-Being.
